What does the Bible say about Jesus throughout the Old Testament?

Answered in 1 source

The Bible testifies that Jesus is present throughout the Old Testament, as it foretells His coming and reveals His nature.

The Bible, from Genesis to Revelation, is centered on the person of Jesus Christ. The Old Testament speaks of the coming Messiah and presents Him in types and pictures, while the New Testament reveals Him as God incarnate. For instance, Jesus Himself said in John 5:39, 'Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me.' This means that every part of the Bible points to Christ, from the promise of the woman's seed in Genesis to the final blessing of grace in Revelation 22:21. All the Old Testament sacrificial systems, prophecies, and narratives ultimately find their fulfillment in Jesus.
