What does the Bible say about Job as a type of Christ?

Answered in 2 sources

The Bible illustrates Job as a foreshadowing of Christ, particularly in his role as a mediator and the suffering he endured.

Job serves as a type of Christ by exemplifying the necessity of a mediator in approaching God. In Job 42:7-10, God instructs Job to offer sacrifices for his friends, signifying that it is through Job's intercession that they could be accepted. This mirrors Christ's mediatorial role as our High Priest, who intercedes for us. Just as Job was accepted on the basis of his righteousness, so too are believers accepted in the beloved, Jesus Christ, whose righteousness is imputed to them. Additionally, Job's suffering, though undeserved, foreshadows the suffering Christ would endure for the sake of His people, illustrating God's grace and mercy manifested through His Son.
