What does the Bible say about joy and deliverance in the Gospel?

Answered in 1 source

The Gospel brings joy and deliverance from the penalty of sin, much like the Jews rejoiced after the King's new decree.

In Esther 8, the Jews celebrated joy and deliverance when a new decree allowed them to defend themselves against their enemies. Similarly, the Gospel of Jesus Christ delivers believers from the condemnation of the law, offering joy and gladness. Just as the Jews were under sentence of death, so too are we under the penalty of sin; however, through Christ's sacrifice, we are delivered and can rejoice in our salvation. The fulfillment of this truth is beautifully illustrated in Hebrews 2, where Christ destroys the power of death and sin, providing us with true joy and peace.
