What does the Bible say about judgment and evil in the world?

Answered in 1 source

The Bible explains that judgment and evil are often a result of forsaking God's covenant and turning to other gods (Deuteronomy 29:24-27).

The Scriptures make it clear that the increase of evils and calamities in the world is due to humanity's turning away from God and His covenant. As seen in Deuteronomy 29:24-27, when people forsake the covenant of the Lord, they invite His judgment upon themselves. This is reiterated in Jeremiah, where God expresses His anger against corrupt and sinful nations that lead their people away from the truth. The increase of violence and moral decay can be seen as a manifestation of God's judgment on those who do not seek Him and instead choose to embrace unrighteousness.
