What does the Bible say about justice and the law?

Answered in 1 source

The Bible teaches that justice comes from God, and the law reveals our sinfulness and need for grace.

In the scriptures, justice is often depicted as a sword that carries the weight of God's law. The Pharisees and priests approached Jesus with swords, symbolizing their legalistic intent to uphold the law. However, it is essential to recognize that while the law serves to expose our guilt (Romans 3:20), it is not through the law that we achieve righteousness. Instead, the law was meant to lead us to Christ, who fulfills the law's requirements and bears our punishment (Galatians 3:24-25). Therefore, while the law is necessary to understand justice, true justice is realized in Christ, who offers grace and redemption from the law's condemnation.
