King Josiah was a godly king of Judah who led a national repentance and rediscovered the law of Moses.
King Josiah, at just eight years old, began his reign over Judah and was marked by his commitment to lead the people in the ways of God. In 2 Kings 22 and 2 Chronicles 34, we see how he worked diligently to purge the land of idolatry and restore worship to the Lord. His reign was characterized by a return to the law of Moses, which ultimately pointed to humanity's need for righteousness that cannot be achieved through works but is instead fulfilled in Christ. Josiah's efforts to refurbish the temple and lead the people through repentance and understanding of God's word led to a significant religious reform during a time when the previous kings had mostly neglected the Lord.
