What does the Bible say about leaven in the Passover?

Answered in 1 source

The Bible instructs that leaven must be purged from homes during the Passover to symbolize purity and the avoidance of corruption.

In Exodus 12:14-20, the Israelites were commanded to observe the Feast of Unleavened Bread, eating no leavened bread during this time. This command serves as a metaphor for the need to eliminate any form of corruption or falsehood from among God's people. Leaven in biblical terms represents the corrupting influence of sin and false doctrine, as it works silently and subtly to change things, just as a little yeast causes the entire batch of dough to rise and become altered.
