The Bible teaches that those who are in Christ are dead to sin and alive in Him, as seen in Romans 6:11.
The apostle Paul clearly articulates in Romans 6:11 that believers should reckon themselves as dead to sin but alive unto God through Jesus Christ. This radical transformation is due to the effectual work of God's grace that empowers the believer to live a life that honors Christ. While believers still experience the presence of sin in their lives, they have a new identity in Christ that ultimately reigns over sin. The believer's life is no longer one where sin has dominion, but rather one where the righteousness of Christ produces a holy life driven by love and gratitude.
