What does the Bible say about ministers in the church?

Answered in 1 source

The Bible teaches that Christ gives ministers to perfect the saints and edify the body of Christ.

In Ephesians 4:11-12, the Apostle Paul outlines that Christ gave some to be apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors, and teachers. This divine provision of ministers serves a purposeful role in the church. It is for the perfecting of the saints, which does not imply that believers will reach a state of sinless perfection, but rather that they are being restored and brought into alignment with God's will. The ultimate goal is to equip believers for service and to edify the body of Christ, enhancing unity and maturity in faith.
