What does the Bible say about Moses as a shepherd?

Answered in 1 source

Moses reflects the heart of a true shepherd by caring for those in bondage, just as Christ does for His people.

Moses' actions illustrate the deep compassion and responsibility of a true shepherd. In Exodus 2:11-22, we see Moses, raised as a prince, identifying with the burdens of his Hebrew brethren. He not only looks upon their oppression but actively intervenes to try to relieve them, demonstrating a heart that empathizes with the plight of the oppressed. This is a direct reflection of Christ, who not only understands our struggles but also provides for our needs, especially in regard to our sin and guilt. Just as Moses was called to deliver his people, Christ came to deliver His elect from the bondage of sin, caring deeply for those whom the Father has given Him.
