What does the Bible say about needing a physician?

Answered in 3 sources

The Bible teaches that those who are spiritually sick—sinners in need of salvation—should seek the Great Physician, Jesus Christ.

In Mark 2:17, Jesus declares, 'They that are whole have no need of a physician, but they that are sick: I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.' This passage illustrates that Jesus came to heal those aware of their spiritual sickness. Just as we seek a doctor when we are physically ill, we must also recognize our need for Christ when we are spiritually unwell. Our sickness, which is sin, necessitates a physician who can truly heal, which He does through His sacrificial love and grace.
