What does the Bible say about needing help from God?

Answered in 2 sources

The Bible teaches that we need God's help primarily because we are under the curse of the law and we cannot save ourselves.

The need for God's help is articulated in Psalm 121, where the psalmist lifts his eyes to the hills, recognizing the reality of his helplessness. The first major need for divine assistance is in your salvation from the curse of the law; without God's intervention, we are condemned. The law shows us our guilt and our inability to fulfill its requirements, which drives us to realize that our help comes from the Lord, who created heaven and earth, and who silences the accusations of the law through Christ's redemptive work on the cross.
