What does the Bible say about obeying God's Word?

Answered in 1 source

The Bible emphasizes the necessity of obeying God's Word as essential for salvation and living faithfully.

Obeying God's Word is of utmost importance. In 1 Kings 20, we see Ahab's disobedience leading to severe consequences, demonstrating that disobedience to God's commands brings about judgment. Just as Ahab was commanded to slay Ben-Hadad and failed to do so, believers today are called to obey the gospel of Christ, which demands faith in Jesus for salvation. Hebrews 2 warns that disregarding such great salvation carries a heavy toll. Therefore, the necessity of obedience is a central theme for Christians, connecting our understanding of God’s grace with our response to His Word.
