What does the Bible say about our earthly bodies and spiritual life?

Answered in 1 source

The Bible describes our earthly bodies as 'earthen vessels' that house the treasure of the knowledge of God's glory in Christ.

In 2 Corinthians 4, Paul contrasts our fragile, dying bodies, referred to as 'earthen vessels,' with the profound treasure contained within them: the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. Despite our outward decay, which Paul notes in verse 16, the inward renewal happens daily through the work of the Spirit. This illustrates the Christian reality of bearing both the dying of Christ and the life of Christ in our mortal existence, where our physical weakness showcases God’s power and grace.
