What does the Bible say about our natural condition as sinners?

Answered in 1 source

The Bible teaches that all are dead in trespasses and sins and inherently unable to respond to God without His intervention.

According to Ephesians 2:1-3, every person is born spiritually dead, living according to the ways of the world and the desires of the flesh. This state of original sin leaves humanity blind to spiritual truths, as confirmed in 1 Corinthians 2:14, which states that the natural man cannot understand the things of the Spirit because they are spiritually discerned. The scriptures declare all are children of wrath until quickened and made alive by God's grace in Christ. Adam's sin in the Garden resulted in a loss of communion with God, marking the human condition with spiritual death.
