What does the Bible say about our need for salvation?

Answered in 2 sources

The Bible teaches that we are all in need of salvation due to our inherent sinfulness and inability to come to God on our own.

The Scriptures clearly indicate that all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23). This notion is encapsulated in the analogy of the lame man in Acts 3, who symbolizes our helpless state without Christ. Just as the man was unable to walk and relied on others for help, we are spiritually lame and beggars in need of righteousness that we cannot achieve on our own. Isaiah 53:6 tells us that we all, like sheep, have gone astray. We must see our need of salvation as a necessity, one that can only be met through the redemptive work of Jesus Christ. Recognizing our spiritual poverty is the first step toward salvation.
