What does the Bible say about our sin nature?

Answered in 1 source

The Bible reveals that all humans are born with a sinful nature, leading to a recognition of our wretched condition without Christ.

Romans 7 illustrates the reality of our sin nature, as exemplified by the Apostle Paul, who laments, 'O wretched man that I am!' (Romans 7:24). This wretchedness reflects our inability to see ourselves as God sees us. By nature, we are blind to our sin sickness, often deluding ourselves into thinking we are not in need of a Savior. As a result, we're reluctant to approach the Great Physician, who is Jesus Christ, the only one capable of healing our sin sickness and delivering us from this miserable state. Our full understanding of our sin nature often deepens over time as we grow in grace and knowledge, compelling us to rely on Christ more fervently.
