What does the Bible say about our strength as Christians?

Answered in 1 source

The Bible teaches that our strength comes from Christ, as we are incapable of coming to God on our own.

In Isaiah 52:1, the exhortation to 'put on thy strength' refers not to our own abilities, but to Christ himself. As Romans 5:6 clarifies, we are 'without strength' and able to do nothing to please God. Believers are drawn to Christ by the Father's grace, affirming that our strength is derived from the Lord Jesus, who empowers and enables us to serve and glorify God. This is echoed in Psalms 29:11, which states that 'The Lord will give strength unto his people.' The realization that we are weak and Christ is our strength encourages us to rely wholly on Him for all aspects of our spiritual lives.
