What does the Bible say about pain and suffering?

Answered in 1 source

The Bible teaches that pain and suffering are a result of the fall of man and God's sovereign plan.

Pain and suffering entered the world as a direct consequence of sin, as described in Genesis 3:16-17. Under God's curse, both physical and spiritual suffering are a reality of life in a fallen world. Yet, Scripture also assures us of hope and restoration, particularly in Revelation 21:4, where God promises no more pain or sorrow for those who are His. Understanding the origin of pain is essential; it helps us to navigate our experiences in light of God's sovereignty and purpose.
