What does the Bible say about peace in the world?

Answered in 1 source

The Bible teaches that true peace cannot exist in the world without the gospel of Jesus Christ.

The concept of peace in the world is complicated by the reality that Jesus Christ, the most peaceful man, stated that He did not come to bring peace, but a sword (Matthew 10:34). This division is rooted in the rejection of the gospel message, which the natural man sees as foolishness (1 Corinthians 1:18). The outward semblance of harmony often arises from a collective disregard for God's truth, as demonstrated in the Tower of Babel (Genesis 11:1-9). Thus, true peace is unattainable in the world until hearts are transformed by the preaching of the cross.
