What does the Bible say about personal praise?

Answered in 1 source

The Bible emphasizes that personal praise must be given with the whole heart and through Jesus Christ.

The psalmist David declares, 'I will praise Thee with my whole heart' (Psalm 138:1). This speaks to the necessity of personal praise that is sincere and complete. Personal praise must be directed to God alone, and importantly, it can only be accepted by God through faith in Jesus Christ. As stated by Jesus himself, 'No man comes to the Father but by me' (John 14:6). Thus, true personal praise is deeply rooted in a heart transformed by Christ, which desires to offer worship that pleases God.
