What does the Bible say about prayer during times of distress?

Answered in 1 source

The Bible teaches that in times of distress, we should remember the Lord and cry out to Him for help.

In the book of Jonah, specifically chapter 2, verse 7, we find Jonah in a dire situation inside a great fish. It was only when his soul fainted within him that he remembered the Lord and prayed. This exemplifies the biblical truth that prayer is vital in our moments of despair. When we recognize our helplessness and turn to God, we find His mercy awaits us. The power of prayer lies in its ability to connect us to God, and in our darkest moments, it becomes a lifeline to divine intervention.
