What does the Bible say about prayer in times of opposition?

Answered in 1 source

The Bible teaches that God hears our prayers even before we speak them, especially in times of opposition, as demonstrated in Daniel's prayer.

In Daniel 10:12-13, we see that God is responsive to our pleas, stating that from the first day Daniel set his heart to pray, his words were heard. This illustrates a fundamental truth in Scripture: God is aware of our needs and desires even before we articulate them, showing His omniscience and care. Daniel's experience demonstrates that despite spiritual forces, such as the prince of the kingdom of Persia opposing him, God's purposes will ultimately prevail, and He will answer the prayers of His people.

Despite the challenges and opposition we face, Daniel's example reveals that our prayers are not in vain. The Lord sent assistance in the form of Michael, a chief prince, to help in response to Daniel's persistent prayers. This represents the broader biblical assurance that our spiritual battles are met with divine aid. Therefore, we are encouraged to pray persistently, even amidst opposition, knowing that God hears and answers our prayers according to His will.
