The Bible teaches that we should pray according to God's will to have confidence that He hears us (1 John 5:14-15).

According to 1 John 5:14-15, prayer is fundamentally about asking God according to His will. The confidence we have in prayer is rooted in the understanding that God only hears those who petition Him according to His will. True prayer involves a believer coming before God, fully submitted to His will and desiring for His purposes to be fulfilled in their requests.
