What does the Bible say about rest from fear of condemnation?

Answered in 1 source

The Bible teaches that there is no condemnation for those in Christ Jesus (Romans 8:1), providing believers with rest from the burden of guilt.

In Romans 8:1, it states, 'There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus.' This verse is a cornerstone of the believer's assurance as it assures us that through faith in Christ, we are free from the guilt and punishment associated with sin. The rest we find in Christ comes from the knowledge that He took upon Himself our condemnation, allowing us to cease striving for acceptance through our works. When we understand that our righteousness is as a filthy rag and that Christ fulfilled the law on our behalf, we experience profound rest in our souls knowing that our standing before God is secure, not because of our merits but due to Christ's finished work.
