What does the Bible say about rewards for following Christ?

Answered in 1 source

The Bible teaches that those who follow Christ will receive manifold rewards, including eternal life.

The scriptures make it clear that there are rewards for those who follow Christ. In Luke 18:28-30, Jesus tells His disciples that anyone who has left their home or family for His sake will receive a hundredfold in this life and eternal life in the world to come. This highlights the idea that true discipleship leads to blessings beyond mere material gain. The parable of the workers in the vineyard in Matthew 20 illustrates that God rewards His followers according to His grace and generosity, not on a merit-based system. Therefore, while there is great reward for following Christ, it is fundamentally a reward of grace, rather than something we earn through our works.
