What does the Bible say about salvation being all or nothing?

Answered in 1 source

The Bible teaches that salvation is either fully by Christ or not at all; it's an all or nothing proposition.

In Mark 2:21-22, Jesus illustrates that salvation cannot be patched together with works or religious ceremonies—it must be wholly found in Him. The metaphor of using new cloth on an old garment or putting new wine into old bottles signifies that the old cannot contain or function with the new. Therefore, salvation is an irrevocable commitment to Christ alone; there is no middle ground. This highlights the futility of trying to blend grace with works, as salvation must either rest entirely in Christ's redemptive work, or it is void of His grace.
