What does the Bible say about salvation through Christ alone?

Answered in 1 source

The Bible teaches that salvation is a gift of God's grace through faith in Jesus Christ, not based on any human works.

According to the Scriptures, salvation is entirely a matter of grace, not human effort. Ephesians 2:8-9 emphasizes that it is by grace we have been saved through faith, and that not of ourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast. This message was radically foreign to the Athenians, who were used to transactional religious practices. Paul proclaimed that salvation comes through Christ alone, as stated in Acts 17, where he declares the unknown God, known only through revelation. The Gospel teaches that Christ's sacrificial death and resurrection are sufficient for the salvation of sinners, and that faith itself is also a gift from God (Romans 12:3).
