What does the Bible say about salvation through works?
Answered in 2 sources
The Bible teaches that no one can be justified by their works, as all have sinned and fall short of God's glory.
The Scriptures clearly indicate that salvation cannot be attained through works. Romans 3:23 states, 'For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.' In John 7, Jesus reproves those who trust in the Law of Moses, revealing their guilt in breaking it. Our righteousness, which is essential for acceptance before God, cannot come from our own efforts or merit because no one can keep the law perfectly, except Christ. He alone is our righteousness, and trusting in our works rather than in Him leads to condemnation rather than salvation.
