What does the Bible say about Satan's role in sin?

Answered in 1 source

Satan is described as the strong man who has power over sin and keeps mankind in ignorance and rebellion against God.

According to Scripture, Satan plays a crucial role in humanity's fall into sin and separation from God. He is referred to as the strong man (Luke 11:21) who guards his palace, symbolizing his dominion over unregenerate hearts. Through cunning deception, he leads mankind into ignorance and unbelief, as seen in Genesis 3 when he questioned God's word to Eve. This ignorance reinforces the natural state of humanity, whereby the God of this world blinds the minds of those who do not believe (2 Corinthians 4:4), keeping them in a condition of spiritual darkness and separation from God.
