What does the Bible say about seeing God and living?

Answered in 1 source

The Bible teaches that no one can see God and live due to His holiness; however, those in Christ are accepted through His sacrifice.

In Exodus 33:20, God tells Moses, 'You cannot see My face, for no man shall see Me and live.' This underscores the holiness of God and the sinfulness of humanity. However, for believers in Christ, the situation alters significantly. Through the sacrifice of Jesus, our sins are atoned for, allowing us to be accepted by God. The essence of the good news is that through Christ's intercession and righteousness, we can stand before God without fear of His wrath. Like Manoah and his wife in Judges 13, we, through Christ, can have hope that we will see God without being consumed.
