What does the Bible say about seeking advice?

Answered in 2 sources

The Bible highlights that advice ought not be mere human opinions; it should align with God's commands and wisdom.

In Proverbs 13:10, it is stated that contention arises from pride, but wisdom comes from the well-advised. God's Word teaches that while seeking worldly advice can be tempting, it is paramount to first seek the counsel of God's Word and mature Christians who can offer godly wisdom. Advice should always lead us back to the commands of God rather than stray from them. Ultimately, true wisdom involves recognizing our need for a new heart and mind to understand and apply His commands better.
