What does the Bible say about seeking goodly pearls?

Answered in 1 source

The Bible teaches that seeking goodly pearls represents a quest for spiritual truth and righteousness.

In Matthew 13, Jesus uses the parable of a merchant seeking goodly pearls to illustrate the nature of the Kingdom of Heaven. According to Scripture, we, by nature, do not seek goodly things or God, as Psalms 10:4 states that the wicked do not seek after God. It is only when God acts upon an individual, as Psalms 110:3 suggests, that a person can begin to seek Him diligently, that is when God makes us willing. The pursuit of such pearls reflects a deeper yearning for truth and relationship with God, underscoring that apart from divine intervention, we are incapable of seeking Him.
