What does the Bible say about seeking signs and wonders?

Answered in 1 source

The Bible warns that seeking signs and wonders can lead to spiritual blindness and rejection of the truth.

In Isaiah 29:10-13 and 2 Thessalonians 2:10-12, we see that those who seek after signs and wonders are often blinded to the truth of God's Word. Jesus Himself indicated in John 5:38 that people do not believe because they lack the Word abiding in them. Seeking miraculous signs instead of the truth can lead to great darkness and misunderstanding of God's purposes. True believers, however, are those who seek a relationship with Christ through His Word, recognizing that the Scriptures testify of Him alone.
