What does the Bible say about seeking the glory of God?

Answered in 1 source

The Bible warns against seeking the glory of men and emphasizes the importance of doing all things for the glory of God.

In Matthew 6:1-18, Jesus instructs us to be careful not to perform our righteous acts for the sake of being seen by others. He makes it clear that our motives in spiritual matters are paramount. If our actions are motivated by the desire for human approval, then we have already received our reward. Truly, it is the glory of God that should be the chief end of all we do. As articulated in 1 Corinthians 10:31, whatever we do, whether eating or drinking, should be done for the glory of God.
