What does the Bible say about sickness and healing?

Answered in 1 source

The Bible teaches that both sickness and health are ordained by God for His purposes.

The Scriptures affirm that there is no sickness that occurs outside of God's sovereign will. In Deuteronomy 32:39, it states, 'See now that I, even I, am He. There is no God with me. I kill and I make alive; I wound and I heal.' This illustrates that both affliction and healing serve the greater plan and purpose of God. Adam's sin introduced sickness into the world, yet God uses these afflictions to refine and guide His children. It's essential to recognize that our suffering can lead to growth and ultimately glorify God.
