What does the Bible say about sin and healing?

Answered in 1 source

The Bible portrays all humans as sinners in need of spiritual healing and points to Christ as the ultimate source of that healing.

The Bible makes it clear that sin affects every person, rendering us spiritually dead (Ephesians 2:1). Just as Naaman suffered from leprosy, our condition as sinners leaves us in a state of brokenness before God. The narrative in 2 Kings 5 illustrates this through Naaman's journey to healing, which symbolizes the greater healing available through Jesus Christ. The prophet Elisha instructed Naaman to wash in the Jordan River, representing the humility and obedience required to seek God's mercy. Naaman's initial resistance parallels the natural human inclination to reject simple faith in favor of self-reliance or complex solutions. Ultimately, like Naaman, we must recognize our desperate need for healing and turn to Christ for salvation.
