What does the Bible say about spiritual changes in Christians?

Answered in 1 source

The Bible teaches that true believers undergo significant spiritual changes, primarily through the process of conversion and continual transformation by the Holy Spirit.

Throughout Scripture, spiritual changes in Christians are emphasized, particularly in the writings of the Apostle Paul, who speaks of the necessity of being born again (John 3:3) and the transformation that occurs in believers (2 Corinthians 5:17). These changes are the result of God's sovereign grace, where individuals are moved from spiritual death to life through regeneration. The initial change, or conversion, represents a radical transformation of the heart and mind, enabling one to see the truth of the Gospel and respond in faith.

Moreover, this work of the Holy Spirit continues throughout the believer's life. Spiritual warfare and growth are ongoing, signifying that true believers experience a life filled with challenges, refining their faith and relationship with God (Romans 5:3-5). This continual transformation is a hallmark of genuine faith, differing significantly from those who have no changes and, consequently, do not fear God.
