What does the Bible say about spiritual fainting?

Answered in 1 source

The Bible describes spiritual fainting as losing sight of Christ and experiencing disorientation and weakness in faith.

Spiritual fainting is akin to physical fainting, described by the Apostle Paul as losing strength and clarity in the midst of trials. In Ephesians 3:13, Paul encourages believers not to faint under tribulations, which provide an opportunity for glory. Just as fainting physically is caused by the brain being deprived of blood, spiritual fainting occurs when believers lose sight of the blood of Christ, the source of their spiritual strength and oxygen for the soul. When we become overwhelmed by life’s challenges, our vision blurs, and we must urgently turn to Christ, the author and finisher of our faith, to be renewed.
