What does the Bible say about spiritual food for believers?

Answered in 1 source

The Bible describes God's Word as essential spiritual food for the inner man, necessary for growth and sustenance.

The scriptures teach that God's Word is not merely intellectual information but vital nourishment for the spiritual life. Just as our bodies require daily physical sustenance, our spirits need the regular intake of God's truth. This ongoing feeding strengthens our inner man, creating a continuous appetite for more of God's holy word. In 1 Peter 2:2, we read, 'Like newborn infants, long for the pure spiritual milk, that by it you may grow up into salvation.' Therefore, a genuine believer will have a strong desire for the Word of God, as it is the means through which God nourishes and equips them spiritually.
