What does the Bible say about striving for righteousness?

Answered in 1 source

The Bible teaches that believers should strive for righteousness as a response to being made righteous in Christ.

Paul emphasizes in Philippians 3 that although he has not yet attained full Christlikeness, he presses on to make it his own because Christ has made him His own. This striving is not an attempt to earn salvation, but rather a demonstration of the transformative power of salvation already granted. The believer's life should be marked by a genuine pursuit of holiness as evidence of having been truly captured by Christ's righteousness.
