What does the Bible say about suffering and comfort?

Answered in 9 sources

The Bible teaches that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory that will be revealed in us (Romans 8:18).

According to Romans 8:18, the sufferings we experience in this world serve a purpose in God's greater plan. While we face heartache and trials, they are not without meaning. Scripture urges us to remember that these sufferings are temporary and pale in comparison to the glory that awaits God's people. This perspective can provide deep comfort, reminding believers that God is ultimately in control and works all things for good, even when the circumstances seem dire.
