What does the Bible say about suffering and patience?

Answered in 1 source

The Bible teaches that suffering produces patience and strengthens faith, as seen in James 5:9-11.

In James 5:9-11, believers are encouraged to be patient during suffering and affliction. Patience, which is a fruit of the Spirit, is developed as we endure trials for Christ's sake. The examples of Job and the prophets remind us that afflictions are not without purpose; they are meant for our good and God's glory. Through these experiences, God trains us to be long-suffering, establishing our hearts in hope as we await the return of the Lord.
