What does the Bible say about suffering with Christ?

Answered in 5 sources

The Bible teaches that suffering with Christ is essential for believers, as it leads to deeper fellowship with Him and demonstrates God's faithfulness.

Psalm 18 illustrates that Christ's suffering was profound, involving sorrows of death and the weight of sin as He bore the just wrath of God for His people. The Apostle Paul encourages believers to know 'the fellowship of His sufferings' and to be made conformable to His death (Philippians 3:10). This fellowship is vital as it shows us how Christ, who knew no sin, embraced suffering and dependence upon God even unto death, setting an example for us to follow. Through our suffering, we learn to rely completely on Christ and His righteousness, reinforcing the truth that all our hope and strength lies in Him.
