What does the Bible say about the altar of Christ?

Answered in 1 source

The Bible declares that Christ is the only true altar through which we can approach God.

According to scripture, there is but one altar by which sinful men may approach the Holy God, and that altar is the Lord Jesus Christ. In the Old Testament, the one altar of sacrifice was foundational for ceremonial worship. However, this altar finds its ultimate fulfillment in Christ, who is the only means by which we can be sanctified and made acceptable to God (Hebrews 13:10). All other altars, whether they be physical or metaphorical, are considered instruments of idolatry, detracting from the singular salvation found in Jesus alone.
