What does the Bible say about the ark as a picture of Christ?

Answered in 1 source

The ark symbolizes Christ as the only refuge from judgment and the condemnation of sin.

In Genesis 6-9, the ark serves as a profound symbol of the Lord Jesus Christ. Just as Noah and the animals were preserved in the ark from the flood of judgment, so God's elect are safely hidden in Christ, who bore the full wrath of God for their sins on the cross. The ark was made to protect those within it, much like Christ is our protector and savior, offering shelter from God's just condemnation. This typology shows that in Christ alone can we find safety and salvation, demonstrating that it is not any merit of our own that secures us but solely God's grace that places us in Christ.
