What does the Bible say about the beginning of faith?

Answered in 1 source

Faith begins with God speaking and us being silent before Him.

According to Isaiah 41:1, the beginning of faith starts with keeping silent before the Lord. This means setting aside our own thoughts and allowing God to speak to our hearts. True faith is formed when we recognize our inability and listen to God's voice, which reveals our need for His grace. Just as Peter and the other disciples had to silence their own voices to hear and recognize Christ, we too must surrender our own opinions and be receptive to God's word.
