What does the Bible say about the ceremonial law?

Answered in 1 source

The ceremonial law was given to prepare men for Christ and pointed to the fulfillment found in Him.

The ceremonial law, as articulated in Hebrews 10:9-10, was a significant part of God's redemptive plan, serving as a shadow of good things to come. The law included sacrifices and rituals that were never meant to be final solutions to sin; they were indicators pointing towards the ultimate sacrifice that would be provided in Christ. With the coming of Christ, these ceremonies were fulfilled and thus made obsolete, as He has taken away the first to establish the second, which is salvation through His sacrifice. The law was a schoolmaster leading to Christ, serving to illustrate and heighten mankind's need for a Savior.
