What does the Bible say about the characteristics of citizens of the Kingdom of Heaven?

Answered in 1 source

The Bible describes citizens of the Kingdom of Heaven as those who are poor in spirit, mournful, meek, and seekers of justice.

In the Sermon on the Mount found in Matthew 5:1-12, Jesus outlines the characteristics of those who belong to the Kingdom of Heaven. These characteristics, known as the Beatitudes, include being poor in spirit, mourning for one’s sin, being meek, hungering and thirsting for righteousness, being merciful, pure in heart, peacemakers, and enduring persecution for righteousness’ sake. These descriptions are not requirements for entry into the Kingdom, but rather characteristics of those who have already received God's grace and been transformed by it, showcasing the profound change that accompanies true faith in Christ.
