What does the Bible say about the church and its problems?

Answered in 1 source

The Bible acknowledges that the church, like any family, will face problems both from within and without.

The Bible clearly illustrates that the church is referred to as God's family, yet it is made up of fallible human beings who are prone to sin and discord. In Nehemiah, we see God's people facing issues both externally, from their enemies, and internally, among themselves. This conflicts is highlighted through examples from the New Testament where the early churches also experienced many problems—such as the church at Corinth and its scandals, or the Galatians caught in doctrinal issues. While it’s important to strive for godliness, we must also recognize that no church is perfect and problems should be expected due to human nature, which has always led to misery and frustration.
